Deposit Guarantee Scheme Curaçao
What is the Deposit Guarantee Scheme?
The Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS) protects the money you hold in accounts at banks, savings funds and credit unions licensed to operate in Curaçao by the CBCS. Should your institution in Curaçao go bankrupt, you will get your money back up to Cg 50,000 per bank and savings fund or Cg 25,000 per credit union. The protection is per person per institution, not per account.
Why a Deposit Guarantee Scheme?
Protecting people’s money with the DGS Curaçao ensures that you regain access to your guaranteed money, if your bank, savings fund or credit union goes bankrupt. This helps to build trust by assuring you that your money is safe and secure in your bank accounts. This protection strengthens the stability of the financial sector of Curaçao and helps to maintain this in times of uncertainty.
